Not Ecstatic dance. Not 5 Rhythms. Not a moshpit.

 

EMOSHPIT is a different kind of emotionally expressive experience. It is a space to find deep within ourselves the bravery for full self-expression.

EMOSHPIT IS FOR ALL GENDERS. ITS PURPOSE IS EXERCISE, RELAXATION AND CONNECTION WITH OUR EMOTIONS AND EACH OTHER via sharing circles then, as a team, letting everything go through a facilitated workout to release whatever's holding you back to dubstep, DnB-type sounds sprinkled with the occasional banging rock tune.

Why EMOSHPIT?

Because being a human can be tough and we feel, held sensitively, it's important for people to embrace the fear of expressing or seeing others express what society deems as perhaps darker or unacceptable emotions. Everything + anything, the light and the dark - it's all welcome at EMOSHPIT.

Our aim

A safe place to investigate and play - like a sandpit for adults - to celebrate all of what it is to be human, our wild and rawness plus our sensitive, nurturing and vulnerable sides through talking about how we feel and expressing our emotions.

Worried about getting hurt?

 To be doubly clear the purpose of EMOSHPIT is to heal not hurt. People can play and dig as deeply as they feel called to. The centre of the dance space will be for consensual contact between people and the edges will be for more solo dancing and expression. There's always a dedicated space, a "chill out" area, to go to should it be required.

Join us for sharing in supportive group circles followed by an hour of all out letting go, sweaty dancing.
